The Master Goal

Greetings everyone!

Yes, here I am writing after a long few months. I do not have anything visual to share with you today, but I do want to share some words.

This past May, I was finally able to put a check-mark next to “Get Master’s degree” on the never-ending “to-accomplish” list. What an accomplishment it was, too. I can happily say that I am a Master of Art, with a concentration in Fashion (the history of, in my case). A two-year program that FLEW by where I met some great friends that will surely be lifelong relationships. It was the biggest ass-kicker in the world, but welllllll worth all the hard work. I learned not only about my area of interest more deeply I also learned a lot on a personal level. Graduate school taught me about myself and my capabilities. There is really no reason why ALL of us cannot accomplish absolutely any goal we set for ourselves. A goal is worthy if you have that will to see it through. As the old adage goes, where there’s a will there’s a way. Truthfully, I had always thought about going to graduate school as a ‘some day’ goal, that was until my awesome friend gave me the push I needed to go forth and make that ‘some day’ goal turn into a ‘today’ goal. After all, there is no time like the present because truthfully, it’s the only time we know we have.

I’ve been distant from the blog because I am at a cross-roads, where new life chapters are being written and I am figuring out what I’d like to do both personally and professionally. Where I fit in, and where my work will fit in to the world. So, as I dig through the mushy process of self-discovery, more or less, I am working toward deciding what the world needs from me and what I have to share with it. And for now, I will be posting differently and occasionally because PDLS is in a stage of evolution along with me.
