Am I Blushing?

I knew I needed to have this top as soon as I laid eyes on it.  Blush is my absolute favorite color…I am just drawn to it.  I love its softness and femininity.  This top has some ruffle detail on the front and on the sleeves, but I like that they’re not really ruffly ruffles, they’re more of a flat ruffle, though the picture doesn’t really do that detail justice.

top is from Dillard’s… worn with very old Target peeptoes, mom’s gold necklace, and grandpa’s Army medallion belt.

Neon Brights

These neon bright colors are popping up everywhere for Spring.  It’s a funny thing about combining bright colors, the less risky route to take would be to pair a bright color with a neutral to tone down its brightness…  but then again, why not try it with some other bright colors?  It just may surprise you.  I tried both.

Toned down: worn here with white blazer; button front skirt and turquoise bead necklace, both made by yours truly.

Amped up:  Different skirt and shoes- skirt is Isaac Mizrahi.

I like them both.

Whether a lot or a little…color makes us happy.  So go on, get happy.

Pops and Metallic Dots

Last night, we went to see the Cleveland Pops Orchestra.  The name of the show was ‘A Song and a Dance’ where they played many different arrangements from several Broadway shows including Guys and Dolls, Chicago, West Side Story, Phantom of the Opera, and a few others.

Overall, the show was very entertaining-as the Cleveland Pops concerts usually are.  They’re just a little different than the Cleveland Orchestra in that they’re just a little more audience involved…which is always fun.

The orchestra played with 2 professional singers and 6 professional dancers which added to the entertainment.

Being a homegrown Clevelander, going to visit the historic and beautiful Severence Hall in University Circle has always been a  favorite Cleveland thing to do.  So if you’re ever in town, stop by for a concert…you won’t be disappointed.

I knew I had to snag this metallic dot dress as soon as I saw it.  And with 65% off, it was a pretty great deal.

I think it’ll be quite versatile as well.  I had to winterfy it just a bit with black tights and a jacket, because here in Cleveland, our weather has dropped back down to chilly 40 degree temperatures…from a lovely, summery 82 just the day before.  But I think it’ll do just fine in the lovely, summery 82 degree weather as well.

My little bud kept sneaking into my pictures…apparently he wanted to be apart of the action.

Statement Necklace

Isn’t this necklace awesome??? I don’t wear it nearly enough.  The flower itself is a metal mesh and according to my dad, it resembles a dogwood flower. :)

With this necklace being such a statement, it looks best with a simpler outfit.  The bright pink skirt adds a pop of color and doesn’t fight too much with the necklace.

Spring Weather Ready

Well, here in Cleveland, spring had sprung a few weeks ago, and then just up and left us.  And even though we’re back into more average Spring temperatures,  our former nice weather put me in a Spring clothes kind of mood and I’m ready again for more of that 70 degree weather fluke we had in mid March.

The Pink Pencil Skirt

I was so excited to find a blush pink pencil skirt the other day at H&M.  It was like they read my mind…I was walking through the store browsing, and I thought, ‘hmm…I wonder if I could find a light pink pencil skirt here’…and alas! A pink pencil skirt.

I know what you’re thinking…’WOW this girl is obsessed with H&M’…but honestly, they rarely let me down!…I think I own about 6 of H&M’s pencil skirts– I absolutely love them because they fit great, they’re great for work, and they’re only about 25 bucks… so for the number of times I’ve worn them, I’ve sure gotten my money’s worth.

I can’t wait to experiment with its versatility.
